Thunder Bay Orthopaedic has been providing Orthotic and Pedorthic services in Northwestern Ontario for over 45 years. We offer a complete range of off the shelf or custom spinal, upper and lower extremity bracing and splinting, diabetic, arthritic, orthopaedic, and specialty footwear and footcare products. We also offer all types of footwear modifications.

Alex earned an Undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Guelph in 2014, which is where he discovered his passion for Prosthetics and Orthotics. Alex then travelled to Melbourne, Australia to complete La Trobe University’s Master of Clinical Prosthetics and Orthotics, graduating late 2016. Alex had the privilege of gaining valuable clinical experience in both Australia and New Zealand, providing him with a unique perspective on the orthotic industry.
David specializes in the assessment, manufacturing, and fitting of custom foot orthotics as well as modifications and fitting of both orthopaedic and custom footwear. He received his certification in 2008 after earning an Honours degree in Kinesiology from Lakehead University and a Post Graduate Diploma from the University of Western Ontario. David’s passion for Pedorthics and care for his patients is evident in his daily routine, which makes him an exceptional practitioner and compliments our commitment to offer the best possible service for all patients.
​Brian is a lifelong resident of Thunder Bay and has been practicing for 28 years. Brian is an honours graduate from both the Technical and Clinical Programs in Orthotics and Prosthetics from George Brown College. He is the recipient of the ‘CAMP Orthopadic’ award, “Canadian Orthopaedic Association” award, as well as the ‘Canadian Association of Prosthetics and Orthotics (CAPO)’ award for ‘Excellence in Orthotics’. He is certified to measure for compression therapy garments and is specifically qualified to fit SpineCor – the dynamic scoliosis bracing system, and the WalkAide – innovative Neurotronics Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) Myo-Orthotics Technology for treatment of drop foot.

Our facility is 4200 square feet and is centrally located in the intercity area. We are one of the only OP Canada accredited facilities in Northwestern Ontario. Accreditation assures you that the facility or practitioner will provide the highest order of professional competency, patient care, and customer service. Our facility is divided into retail space, assessment rooms, casting room, gait lab, and fabrication areas. We have state of the art manufacturing equipment including our VORUM and Kintec scanning systems.
